While all rooms have beds with mattresses, they are very firm. We are offering the option to pre-pay for a foam topper for your mattress at our cost. (We are not earning anything extra by offering this) If you ask for a foam topper, we will order one and have it unpacked and onsite for you. Additional toppers will be available for purchase should you determine that you want one.

This retreat is partially subsidized by membership in the Federation of BC Writers. If you are not a member, we are happy to offer you the member rate with the add-ons below so that you pay the same amount as members.

The retreat is happening is divided between two primary buildings that are connected and identical. To offer the most restful experience, we are attempting to match people to buildings based on your general sleep patterns. Please advise if you are a night owl, morning go getter, or have no preference. We cannot guarantee any specific outcomes, but hope to minimize noise to the best of our ability.

Terms and Conditions

In registering for this event, you are agreeing to the terms and condition of this event including the refund policy and payment schedule for the rate you have selected.

50% deposit is due at time of booking.

A full refund of fees paid is available until August 31, 2025

A half refund of fees paid is available from September 1st, 2025, until October 31st, 2025.

No refunds are possible after October 31st, 2025.

Any refunds will be issued by e-transfer and may take up to 2 weeks to process.

Guests may transfer their registration to another person at no cost until November 7th. If an early bird rate was in effect it will be honoured. If the individual taking over the registration is not a member, but the initial spot was registered as such, the new registrant will be responsible for the difference. The individual taking over the registration must contact the federation at hello@bcwriters.ca to make payment arrangements. The deposit and other fees paid by the initial registrant will be returned by e-transfer thereafter.

The Federation of British Columbia Writers, its members, board, staff, and volunteers are not liable for any loss, injury, or damages from taking part in or attending the Fall Into Writing Retreat.

Any information presented by speakers and other guests is to be understood as opinion based on experience and not advice. Participants are encouraged to further research information provided.

The Federation of BC Writers recommends trip cancellation insurance from a reputable provider to offset any challenges posed by circumstances beyond the participant’s control such as illness or family emergencies.
